About the new curriculum

• Havent been told anything about STEM curriculum change

• New curriculum perceived as quite basic

• Covering how to use Microsoft word, etc

• Main blocker being paperwork, reporting, goal setting -

• Closes thing they have to ITF is an initiative called mentor classes

  • 15 minutes with students for mentoring, its almost no time at all, goals etc not enough time

How the teacher brings in new content

• Principal talks about it

• Workshops

  • Usually happens at schools once a week

• Initiative to improve grades and academic achievements

• Report back on what we did

  • What did you do,  evidence of goal achievement

  • Ie: point avg went up, % achieved success criteria

• PD -

• Emails

• Group or team that focuses on it

• Teacher then implements the initiative

Guest speaker

• You get into contact with the pricipal

• Deputy or assistant

• Make your case for a guest speaker

• Different speakers for different assemblies

• Police vetting
